Your cloud tech partner
Industry leading solutions that helps you unlock the full power of Googles cloud.
Having taken home two incredible honours at Google Cloud Next ’24 in Las Vegas, it’s time to reflect on our awards, namely the Partner of the Year trophies for DEI and Public Sector (Government) in EMEA. We spoke with two key figures in Qodea to understand the positive impact of our work for customers and Google, and how this recognition fuels future ambitions.
“At Qodea, we’re honoured to win the Public Sector Partner of the Year award for Government,” says Alison King, Client Partner. “Our dedicated team, including 32 security-cleared UK-based employees, goes above and beyond to support government organisations across Europe.
In the UK, our work with The Cabinet Office and The Office for National Statistics has brought groundbreaking solutions to drive research insights from population-scale data sets. These are organisations that can now embrace new, real-time data sources, and make more timely and granular decisions to better serve the public and vulnerable populations within our society.”
This achievement for Qodea highlights the company’s strong partnership with Google Cloud from top to bottom, with results being passed onto customers across EMEA. “Our work with DPD, part of the French Government’s La Poste, has also flourished,” reports Alison. “We’ve expanded their Google footprint across Meet, Chrome, and Voice, while deploying Looker and Apigee for integrated data and systems. A recent GenAI proof-of-concept was hailed as brilliant by DPD’s Head of AI and Innovation.”
As a combined company, we sponsor many events throughout the tech calendar, like the Global Government Forum on better data usage which leads insightful roundtables with ministry representatives, and the Women in Public Sector IT Strategy Forum, providing a platform to inspire female leaders and drive representation.
Qodea is committed to continuous improvement as a trusted partner. By collaborating closely with Google Cloud and public sector organisations, we strive to deliver transformative solutions that better serve communities across Europe.
“As Qodea we are on a mission to make the tech industry more diverse, equitable and inclusive,” explains Charlotte Batters, Head of Business Transformation.
“We’re taking action through our comprehensive four-level DEI programme. For example, our Intro to Google Cloud workshops open doors by providing free cloud training and career guidance to underrepresented groups. It’s all about building confidence and skills. In 2024, we’re going even further by creating an online community, offering mentorship, and helping folks get professionally certified.” This award comes thanks in part to our tiered approach, as Charlotte reveals. “First, there’s our Kickstart program hiring and training diverse Associate Cloud Engineers, with many coming from underrepresented backgrounds who now have rewarding roles at our organisation. For experienced professionals, our Convert program supports transitions to Google Cloud, making this opportunity accessible through free training, mentoring and resources.
And then there’s our Elevate leadership programme that empowers underrepresented talent to thrive by building business skills like finance and presentations, with the vast majority of participants coming from diverse backgrounds.”
To receive the Google Partner of the Year Award for a second consecutive term underlines the tangible progress being made across our enlarged company, but we’re humble enough to know there’s more work to do. That’s why DEI is hardwired into our B Corp values and community support. By partnering with Google Cloud, we’re striving to make the tech world a more equitable, inclusive place for everyone. It’s a journey, and one we’re committed to.
